iDisciple Bible Study Guide: The Five Faces of Grace
Overview

Grace is one of the most profound gifts God revealed to His people, a divine kindness that unfolds throughout Scripture. In the Old Testament, we see glimpses of grace in God’s protection and patience in dealing with human failure among the children of Israel. This grace, often wrapped in the Hebrew word "chesed" (חֶסֶד)—God’s steadfast love and favor—points toward something greater, an unmerited favor we could never earn.

In the New Testament, grace was personified through Jesus Christ with His life, death, and resurrection. He offers saving grace to the sinner, sharing grace to the community of believers, sanctifying grace that purifies the heart, strengthening grace that empowers us to endure, and serving grace that enables us to reflect His love in action. The grace Jesus brought broke the chains of sin and offered believers eternal hope, grounded in the love of God.

As you read through this study, you will uncover the five amazing faces of grace. Each section reveals a different dimension of grace. This is a personal invitation to experience God’s grace in your daily walk. You will see how grace is woven through the Bible’s grand narrative, from the promises of the Old Testament to the fulfillment of Jesus Christ.

You will learn how to apply these five forms of grace in your life, embracing the love and favor that God has poured out through His Spirit. As you journey through these lessons, may you discover grace as more than a doctrine but as a way of life that transforms you into the image of Christ.
