Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.
So many times we say that we do not “feel” God’s presence in our lives. We share with a friend that God seems to be distant-- feeling like you cry out to Him, but He seems so far away. To be sure, there are times in our life when God is silent. He is still with us, but He is silent and only He knows His reasons for His silence. Many times when we feel distant from God, it is our fault because we are not seeking Him on a daily basis. We pray, “God, bless me and my family, God help me, God make this situation go away,” etc. But, we must ask ourselves, “Are we walking faithfully with God?”
You play an important role in your relationship with God. You must be seeking Him, learning about Him, listening to Him. Your relationship with God is no different than any other relationship you have: it is a two- way street. Are you doing your part of not only praying to God but also of spending quality time with Him? If you want to “feel” God’s presence in a real intimate way, then walk faithfully with Him daily. During the times that He is quiet, don’t doubt Him. Trust that He is still by your side and ask Him, “What do you want me to learn during the silence?”
Thank You that I am able to have a relationship with You. You are the God of the universe, the Creator of ALL things- You alone are holy, righteous and worthy of my praise. God, create in me a deep hunger for You and Your word. I want to know You and I want to walk faithfully with You.
