Your Time

Description

Everything has its appointed time for the fulfillment of the longings, desires and purposes God puts in our hearts.

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1, NKJV)

This familiar passage is loaded with truths that will fill and thrill your heart! Today, let’s look at a few:

To Everything There is a Season: Literally, this is referring to a “set time” or to an “appointed time.” Everything has an appointed or set time. We can rest in this fact as it relates to God’s plan in our lives. We don’t have to strive or become impatient. We can relax in knowing the Lord is at work in our lives, bringing us to appointed and set times.

A Time: This has to do with a proper time or an opportune time; we might think of it as a time period, not perpetual. This helps to know that while everything has its appointed time, there will be an opportune time within that appointed time.

For Every Purpose: This is a great phrase – it means desire, delight, pleasure or longing. God plants His divine will in our hearts and we find ourselves desiring it, longing for it, taking pleasure in the thought of it and delighting in this purpose. So far then, we can see that everything has its appointed time and an opportune time period for the fulfillment of the longings, desires and purposes God puts in our hearts.

Under Heaven: This refers to life as we know it under the sky and stars. In others words, this simple passage of truth is something we can count on in this life while we live on the earth under heaven!

Putting It All Together: To everything there is a season [an appointed or set time] and a time [a proper and opportune period] for the fulfillment of the longings and desires God puts in our hearts while we live on this earth [under heaven]. Wow! Now that is one blessed and loaded verse!

Today, meditate on every word and allow the Lord to bring your heart to a place of great faith and rest.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy]…” (Ecclesiastes 3:11, AMP)

Say It: “Father, I am so glad that I can rest in Your care for me. I know that everything You have ordained for my life has an appointed and set time. I know that in that appointed time, You will give me an opportune time period. I thank You that in Your set time and through an opportune time period, You will fulfill and satisfy the desires and longings of purpose You have put in my heart, and You will do it while I live under the heavens on this earth. Thank You, Lord! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
