God so closely identifies with you as His child that your tears are on His face.
When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. JOHN 11:33
God so closely identifies with you as His child that your tears are on His face! When God called Abraham to leave Ur of the Chaldeans and follow Him in faith, He encouraged him by promising, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse” (Genesis 12:3). God would be so closely identified with Abraham that Abraham’s friends and enemies would be His own.
God not only loves His children; He identifies with them. In response to such loyalty and love, we are to identify with Him — with His grief, His joy, His love, His pain, His blessings, His honor, His Son, His gospel. Your pain is His pain. And He loved you enough to send His own Son to identify with your sin and to shed His blood and take your judgment at the cross!
So … isn’t it time His tears were on your face?
