Your Most Precious Possession

Description

Fill your home with the fragrance of your sacrificial love for Jesus. Why? Because Jesus is heaven’s alabaster jar, broken and poured out for you!

Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. JOHN 12:3

I’m not a person who uses expensive perfume, but its extravagance isn’t lost on me. In John 12:3, Mary takes a gleaming alabaster jar containing a fortune in perfumed ointment and pours the contents on Jesus’ head and feet.

In her act of loving devotion, Mary gave Jesus everything. Her future. Her security. Her reputation. Her pride. And John 12:3 goes on to say, “The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.”

Mary’s selfless act of worship blessed her home, and the story of her sacrifice has blessed and inspired thousands of others since that day some two thousand years ago.

What’s your alabaster jar, your most precious possession?

Your children?

Your marriage?

Your career?

Your plans for the future?

Your time?

Would you be willing to break that jar open and pour it at Jesus’ feet?

Fill your home with the fragrance of your sacrificial love for Jesus. Why? Because Jesus is heaven’s alabaster jar, broken and poured out for you!
