Your Comfort Level

Description

When we step out of our comfort zone we encounter fear and challenges, but we also find opportunities

“He had to go through Samaria on the way. Eventually he came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime." John 4:4-6

THINK

Often we tend to hang out in places we are familiar with and mix with the people we know and trust. We don’t go to certain places or talk to new people because we are afraid of what we might get ourselves into. When we step out of our comfort zone we encounter fear and challenges, but we also find opportunities. Jesus knew well the dangers of travelling through Samaria but he knew he had an appointment at Jacob’s Well.

Do you deliberately avoid people or places that you feel threaten your comfort? Could there be someone or something that you are missing? Is there an opportunity waiting for you for a divine intersection?

PRAY

If you have been deliberately avoiding doing something or going somewhere you need to be, ask God to meet you down the road.

ACT

Think about the changes that you can make to your life and the new opportunities there might be when you travel down a different road and when you meet new people.
