Young Leader

Kuy Ny Phal, 20, is a leader of a youth club in Leuk Daek, Cambodia. She runs the monthly meetings that teach children to understand their rights and promote self-protection.

The energetic young woman is an advocate for children who lately went with a group to intervene with a father who was beating up his son. She says the problems in this community are domestic violence, child labor, migration, and the potential of sex trafficking.

Her father used to commit violence in the home, especially when he drank. She wants to protect children against all kinds of abuse.
