"For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12, NKJV)
We are surrounded! With God's favor, that is!
Yesterday, we talked about the revelation and gift of righteousness the Lord has given to us through our faith in Jesus. He's such a good God, not only does He give us His righteousness—on top of that—He blesses the righteous!
God promises to surround the righteous with favor! So, you might as well put your hands up to thank and praise to the Lord—you are surrounded by His favor!
Favor is a big word; it encompasses more than we can comprehend with our minds. Favor means: "a pleasure, a delight, a favor, goodwill and acceptance." When God surrounds you with favor, He surrounds you with His goodness and blessings on every front! He surrounds you with acceptance! He surrounds you with favors! He surrounds you with pleasure and delight!
That means, in our day-to-day lives, we can expect God's favor to go before and behind us. His favor gives us preferential treatment, open doors, opportunities, special benefits, promotions and goodness. It's not because of anything we've done, not done or are doing or aren't doing; it's all because of what Jesus has already done on the cross! Through His blood, we have received the gift of righteousness—and His favor!
Do you believe it? Why not put your hands up and thank the Lord for His favor today? You are surrounded!
Say It: “Father, it's almost too good to be true—but it is true and I believe it. Through Jesus Christ, You have made me righteous and on top of that You surround me with favor as with a shield. Everywhere I go, I am surrounded by Your favor. Today, I put my hands up to thank and praise You! I praise You—I am surrounded by Your favor! It's all because of You, Jesus—I am so thankful for Your righteousness, acceptance, pleasure, delight and favor. Thank You for preferential treatment, open doors, opportunities, special benefits, promotions and Your goodness following me all the days of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
