You Can Be a Source of Reconciliation!
Today, we’re going to discover another key together for entering into reconciliation.
Sometimes, instead of being in a situation of conflict yourself, you’re in a position to help someone else resolve a conflict. And if that’s the case, God wants to help you with it! You can become a source of reconciliation and a good counselor.
One day, a teacher asked his students to write down their most horrible sin, their deepest, darkest secret, on a piece of paper. Then, before they gave too much detail, he stopped them and asked them this question: if you had to tell someone this secret, whom would you choose? What kind of qualities would that person have?
They responded with qualities like:
- The ability to keep a secret,
You can become a source of reconciliation.
You have nothing to fear ... conflicts exist, but they aren’t destined to remain because God has given us all the keys so they don’t get the upper hand in our lives. If you let Him, His love will accompany you until the end and His Spirit will help you have the right attitude to resolve conflicts.
Perhaps this would be an appropriate prayer for such an occasion: Lord, I desire to be this peacemaker, someone who’s open to reconciliation. Help me have the words and the attitude that I’ll need when I encounter a situation like this. I ask for Your wisdom, love, and supernatural understanding at that moment! In Jesus’s name, amen.”
