You Are What You Attract
“As iron sharpens iron, a friend sharpens a friend.” Proverbs 27:17
Someone could meet your best friends, and without ever having a conversation with you, they would be able to determine what kind of person you are. The kind of friend we are is the kind of friend we will attract. And the truth is that the people we surround ourselves with often determine the direction our life takes.
Who are you surrounding yourself with? Are they the kinds of people who will help you get where you want to go? Are they sharpening your life, your focus, and your direction? Or are they grinding those areas down to a dull point?
Thank God for the ability to have friends. Ask Him for the discernment to choose the right friends. And ask for the courage to walk away from the wrong kinds of friends.
Be the kind of person who helps sharpen your friends. Start by inviting them to be part of your church. Because the right friends will take people where they need to go – and we all need the local church!
