You Are Accepted

In spite of knowing everything about us ― this is remarkable ― God said, “I choose you.”

Ephesians 1:4 (NIV®)

He chose us in him before the creation of the world.

Did you know that God chose you? He knows what we’ve done, what we’ve thought about doing, and what we wish we’d done. And in spite of knowing that―this is remarkable to me―God said, “I choose you.” If you’re afraid for anyone to ever know who you are, if you’re hoping people won’t see past the shiny façade you present to the world, this one might be hard to believe. He didn’t take you pending future negotiation, for “a player to be named later” so He can get some A-list star when one becomes available. God looked across the planet and said, “I want that one.” And when that really takes root in your heart, it’s a game-changing notion. You may have faced rejection by other people and the hurt that comes with it, but Almighty God says, “I’ll take you.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing me. What a remarkable privilege it is to be fully known and yet still claimed by Almighty God. What a blessing it is to live as one of your children. Help me to understand and appreciate that more each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
