How can we see God unless we draw near? How can we trust Him without a yielded heart?
How can we see God unless we draw near?
How can we draw near unless He makes a way?
How can we get close unless we trust Him?
How can we trust Him without a yielded heart?
A yielded heart takes the path laid out for her. She will take each step knowing He will never fail her nor forsake her. She will know Her God because she has yielded what so easily separates them – Self.
This is she who lifts her voice to Him, “Lord. Savior. God. I, with yielded heart, mind and soul come to You alone. I relinquish all rights to “self.” I chose You and know that in that choice You must become more and I must become less. I will dwell in the shadow of the Almighty and rest in the power of Your Sovereignty. I will move in the flow of Your perfect, pleasing and acceptable will. Here my heart burns within me by Your touch. You speak – I listen. Where You lead I will follow.
Come, Lord Jesus, come.”
He responds, “Draw near to me and I will draw near to you. I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
She wraps the “I will” shawl around her shoulder and they walk hand in hand in intimate fellowship – He is leading and she trusting. Peace follows in authentic thankfulness rising in fullness of joy. Her yielded heart is new and prepared for the Holy.
With open eyes she sees Him.
With freed ears she hears Him.
With a clear mind she knows Him.
With a soft heart she loves Him.
A yielded heart IS a spiritual act of worship.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1)
