Worry-Free Life

Description

Instead of worrying, take your concerns and fears to God and lay them at His feet.

Matthew 6:25

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes?

The life of a mom can be filled with worry. We worry because we love our children so much. But Jesus tells us not to worry. Instead, He tells us to place our anxious thoughts on Him and trust in God. In order for me as a mom to be able to exchange my worry for God’s peace I must trust God completely. I need to comprehend the endless love that God has for my children and me.

Where does worry get me anyway? By me worrying, do I accomplish anything good for my family or myself? No. One reason that worrying is unproductive is the fact that I can’t change the outcome due to my level of worry. All I end up doing is working myself into a frenzy, and in the end, nothing has changed.

Instead of worrying, I need to take my concerns and my fears to God and lay them at His feet. I need to ask God to either change my circumstances or give me what I need to get me through the tough times. It is up to God which one He will do.

Prayer:

Father, In my human nature, I worry. I try as hard as I can to stop worrying, but I always end up thinking about my circumstances. God, I want a life that is worry free, but in order for that to happen I realize I must put my faith in you and not my circumstances. Teach me Father how to do that. I am willing to learn and want to have complete dependence on you.
