Words of Life or Death
Description
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21
Think
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can certainly hurt me. Remember, we’re never “just saying” with our words. Our words have power. We are either communicating powerful words of life, words that will build up, encourage, and educate; or we are communicating powerful words of death, words that defile, deny and denigrate.
Don’t be careless about the words you say. Instead, be intentional with your communication. Measure every word and use them all to bring life into the people around you.
Pray
Ask God to give you a heart of compassion like His. Pray for Him to give you the words to speak to others so you can bring them life.
Act
Be intentional about encouraging someone today. Look for someone in the office or around the neighborhoods who seems down, and give them a compliment to help build them up.
