Wise Mom

If you want to be a wise woman and a wise mom, hear His word, and then put those words into practice.

Matthew 7:24

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

I want to be a wise woman and a wise mom. If I follow Jesus’s words in this verse, I will need to hear His word, and then put those words into practice. It is a two-step process. I can’t just hear the Word, I must hear it then act upon it. So many times I read the Bible, but I fail to act upon what I am reading.

It is so easy to make excuses or justify what I am doing without adhering to what God’s Word says. One thing is for sure, the Bible is clear on so many topics. I must be wise not in my own eyes, but in God’s eyes and in God’s way. So many times as a mom, we can “think” we are being wise, but when we line up our thoughts with scripture, the two thoughts do not line up. Always go with what God says, even if it feels counterintuitive.

Father, Give me understanding when I read your Word. Give me determination and discipline on how to apply your Word to my daily life. So often, I am tempted to live life my own way, but I am acknowledging to you right now, that I want to live life Your way. Thank you for your patience with me and love for me always.
