Who’s Responsible?

Description

Those who have heard are without excuse when it comes to trusting Christ. Be sure you choose Jesus—the only way to God.

He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life (1 John 5:12).
Here is a tough objection to Christianity we must deal with when discussing our faith with skeptical friends: What happens to those who die without ever really hearing about the salvation found in Christ? It is a difficult question to answer, but Jesus said this, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6, NIV). Couldn’t be clearer. Because of that, the church is given a mandate; we’re to take the gospel to every tribe and nation.

But what about those who never have a chance to hear because the church simply has not completed its job? The Bible says the person who has never been able to hear of Jesus is still going to be responsible for responding to God with the natural revelation of God that he or she has received (Romans 1:20). Now, how God does this, I don’t know. And yet we know that God, who has sacrificed His Son for our salvation, wants us to receive that salvation. And He is going to be fair, just, and loving. We must trust Him to make the right decision regarding those who have never heard. He will do the right thing.

But here is what is most important to the person reading this devotion. You have heard. And those who have heard are without excuse when it comes to trusting Christ. Be sure you choose Jesus—the only way to God.
