Who Owns Who

Description

Don’t allow the pull of pride that comes with social media and technology to drag you away from God’s plan.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test my thoughts.”  Psalm 139:23

THINK

Think about how often you utilize social media. How many times in the day do you check Instagram? How about Twitter? Facebook? The reality is that we utilize social media a lot. It takes up space on our phones, and the more we use it, the more space it takes up in our lives. It can be a great thing. It allows us to communicate and keep up with other people. But if we aren't careful, it can cause us to focus so much on others’ voices that we miss the voice of God.

Don’t allow the pull of pride that comes with social media and technology to drag you away from God’s plan. Instead, stay humble in how you communicate online and stay balanced in your approach to social media.

PRAY

Ask God to help you take inventory of how much you focus on technology and social media as opposed to time with Him. Ask Him to help you stay disciplined and focused first on a relationship with Him.

ACT

Rather than just opening them up whenever and wherever, set specific times in your day that you will check any social media accounts that you have. Remember – you own the technology; the technology doesn't own you!
