Who Blazed a Trail For You?

Description

Sometimes, we forget that the reason we are able to enjoy a strong walk with God or a place of spiritual maturity is because of the faithful spiritual pioneers and veterans who went before us

"Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit!” Hebrews 12:1

Who’s blazed a trail for you? Whose spiritual shoulders are you sitting on? Sometimes, we forget that the reason we are able to enjoy a strong walk with God or a place of spiritual maturity is because of the faithful spiritual pioneers and veterans who went before us. Today, let’s take some time to thank those whom God has used to give us spiritual freedom!

Who led you to the Lord? Who’s taught you the Word? Who’s mentored you? When I think about my own life, there are so many important people who have helped me spiritually. I have stood on the shoulders of numerous people and in various seasons, I have been led to thank them in meaningful ways. I knew it was important to me – and to the Lord – that I give honor and appreciation to those who have invested into my life and walk with God.

Have you thanked the pioneers and vets in your life lately? I believe that one of the best things we can do to honor those who have blazed a spiritual trail for us it to simply live a life that pleases God – with our whole heart! That is: be an on-fire follower of Jesus, run your race, make an eternal difference and don’t quit! Today, why not pray for and thank the people who gave you big spiritual shoulders to sit on!

Say It: “Father, I thank You for those who led me to You, who taught me the Word and who impacted my life in an eternal and spiritual way. I appreciate their faithfulness to You and how You have used them in my life. I pray that You bless them in a significant way today. I ask You to show me how to express my gratitude to them in a meaningful way. Lord, help me to live my life in a way that pleases You and honors their faithfulness. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
