White Flag

God gives us the option and the free will to choose submission to Him.

"Therefore submit to God…" James 4:7, NKJV

Want to start today off on the right foot? Would you like to let go of yesterday’s frustrations? Obliterate self-induced pressure? Lower your blood pressure, stomp out stress and release the weight of the world? Throw up the white flag and submit to God!

There is something wonderful about submission!

Of course, our human nature rebels against the idea of submitting to anyone or anything, right? After all, we are capable and confident and we can figure it out––or so we think. The only problem with that way of living is that it's the long way to nowhere! When we submit to and follow the Lord––He leads us into His best. He takes us on scenic routes, shows us some amazing sights, connects us to wonderful people and does supernatural things in and through us.

Submitting to God doesn't mean we become brainless, passive, incompetent, weak, and spineless zombies. It simply means we are bright enough to recognize that humbly following the God of the universe is a really smart thing to do. To submit means to take our place in rank––to acknowledge that He's the General, we are the soldiers. He leads, we follow. He's the Boss and we subordinate ourselves to His leadership, wisdom, authority, experience and love. It's really a place of great freedom.

Ready to submit to God and His Word today? He won't force our submission––He's not a dictator; He's a loving Heavenly Father. He gives us the option and the free will choice to choose submission to Him. If you've not already done so, why not intentionally submit to God today!

Say This: "Dear God, I submit to You. I throw up the white flag and I choose to subordinate myself (spirit, soul and body) to You – Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. I ask You to give me the wisdom, grace and strength I need for this day! In Jesus' Name. Amen."
