Where Your Dreams Meet God’s Plan
Description
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you"—Matthew 6:33.
I remember back when I was 16 years old, I thought baseball was everything. I ate it, drank it, and lived it every day of my life. People often ask me what kept me out of the major leagues. And I tell them, “One thing: the scouts!” I loved baseball, but I wasn’t good enough to go to the majors.
One night after a game, I dropped a buddy off at his house and then drove back by the ball field. No one was around and the lights were out, so I decided to go out and take a walk on the field. I started praying, and God began to make it clear to me He had plans for me well beyond baseball.
So I began talking to God right there between second and third bases and I said, “Lord, I want to be committed. If playing baseball isn’t in Your plan for me, that’s fine. But whatever You have for me, I surrender to it now.” I got down in the dirt, prayed, and handed my life over to God.
Dreams are a good thing, but they must be laid at the feet of Jesus. Don’t let chasing your dreams cause you to miss something God has for you that will be so much better and more fulfilling. Surrender your life to God and let Him take the reins. He didn’t disappoint me, and He won’t disappoint you either!
