Where to Find God’s Perfect Recipe for Your Life

Live life according to God's instructions; The Bible. In it you'll find life, purpose and joy as you discover God's plan for you.

Your word is a lamp to my feet

and a light to my path.

I have sworn an oath and confirmed it,

to keep your righteous rules—Psalm 119:105-106.

A man was helping his wife as she was doing some cooking. She gave him the responsibility of cooking the green bean casserole and told him, “It’s easy. Just follow the recipe and everything will turn out fine.” Well, he thought he’d be able to do it on his own, so he put the recipe aside.

But when everyone sat down for dinner, they all wished he’d used the recipe. The ingredients were all wrong, the cooking time had been off, and the casserole was a disaster. After the family ate, the man looked at his wife and told her, “I really should’ve read those instructions!”

There are a lot of people who do that with life. They trust in themselves to figure it out and learn the hard way when things blow up. So they’re left broken, hurting, and wishing they’d have had instructions from the very beginning. But the truth is that God has given us a recipe for living—a recipe that’s found in the pages of the Scriptures.

I sit in my office every week with people who are trying to live life without the recipe. It’s heartbreaking to see the pain it causes. So get the recipe for daily living by diving into God’s Word and walking in obedience and thankfulness to Him. It’s there you’ll find the fullness of joy as you discover the incredible plan He has for your life.
