Where Does Your Help Come From?
King David was often in awful situations. He talks about it in several of his psalms. Many times, King Saul and others were out to kill him. Yet, when David found himself in one of these desperate situations, he declared, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (the Bible, Psalm 121:1-2, NIV)
He was close to death, as people were determined to find and eliminate him. But he firmly proclaimed, “My help comes from the Lord.” David believed in His God. He was completely assured that His Lord would not abandon him, but that He would once again come to his rescue.
Know that your help isn’t in men or circumstances, but in Jesus alone.
Turn to Him as this week begins and entrust everything to Him. Let’s pray together…“Lord Jesus, just like King David, I lift up my eyes to You. In the face of all my challenges, I choose to believe that I can face everything with You by Your grace. Thank You again for Your love that upholds me and Your presence that reassures me. May Your name be blessed today and always! Amen.”
Thanks for existing!
