When the Holidays Hurt

Are you feeling lonely or grieving a loss this holiday season?

Sometimes holidays are hard, especially if you’ve experienced loss or hurt.

Our family has experienced a lot of loss this year. Maybe you have, too. Whether it was your job, your health, a dream or a loved one, experiencing loss leaves us feeling alone and sometimes empty. It can seem like everyone around us is getting on with their lives while we’re grieving alone.

It’s easy to fill our emptiness by throwing ourselves into the busy holiday activities. But when things get quiet, our loss is there and it can be overwhelming.

If you’re feeling lonely or empty today, I want to remind you: Jesus wants to move into the space created by your loss and replace your anger with peace, your sadness with comfort, your despair with hope. I’m praying for you today friend.
