What Is a Priest?

00:00

Description

Incredibly, every believer has the privilege of the family of Aaron. We have been designated by God as priests, and we have been consecrated by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

In the Old Testament a priest was a very special person. He was the only person who could enter into the presence of God. For anyone else to do so, they would be executed. Moreover priests were selected from only one family, the family of Aaron, and they were consecrated to that ministry.

"Now this is what you shall do to them to consecrate them to minister as priests to Me: take one young bull and two rams without blemish,

4 "Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting, and wash them with water.

 5 "And you shall take the garments, and put on Aaron the tunic and the robe of the ephod and the ephod and the breast piece, and gird him with the skillfully woven band of the ephod;

 6 and you shall set the turban on his head, and put the holy crown on the turban.

 7 "Then you shall take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head and anoint him. (Exodus 29:1-7)

Incredibly every believer has the privilege of the family of Aaron. We have been designated by God as priests, and we have been consecrated by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. When we realize that only one family out of the entire nation of Israel could be priests, we then know how privileged we are.
