What If?

What would you do if you were diagnosed with a life-threatening illness? Since you're not guaranteed tomorrow, why wait to live today?

What would I want to do if I were diagnosed with a terminal illness?

My friend Kim was an amazing mom with three young kids. Her death made me take a look at my own life. Although, I know I’ll die one day, I tend to live like I have forever. But I don’t.

So what would I want to do if I were diagnosed with a terminal illness? I know I’d write letters to my husband and kids telling them how I feel about them. And I’m sure I’d make videos for their graduation or wedding days.

It’s easy to not think about these things when I don’t have a life-threatening illness. But, why wait? There’s so much I want to say and do, and the reality is I’m not guaranteed tomorrow.

So, this week, I decided to write a note to each of my kids and my husband telling them how much they mean to me. It felt so good not to wait.
