What Do You Call Jesus?

Description

One of the ways God is revealed in our lives is by what we call Jesus. Within this confession, an eternal connection is made.

Your concept of God will be reflected in you.

One of the ways God is revealed in our lives is by what we call Jesus. If we call Him good teacher, He will instruct us. If we call Him wise counselor, He will impart wisdom. But when Jesus is called on by the name of the Christ, Son of the Living God, then there is a revelation of Jesus the Lord in us. The book of 1 John tells us:

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. (4:15-17 ESV)

Within this confession, an eternal connection is made. When we speak the Word of God, the distance that separates us from truth is bridged. We are positioned to identify with God based on who He is, not who we are.

Because He is love, we are loved and we can love. (1 John 4:7; 4:8; 4:16)

Because He is life, we are alive. (John 14:6)

Because He is able, we are capable. (Matthew 3:9)

Because He is my brother, we are God’s daughters. (John 6:46; Philippians 2:11)

Because He is almighty, we are mighty. (Revelation 11:17)

Because He is healer, we are healed. (Exodus 15:26)

Because He is wisdom, we are wise. (James 1:5)

Because He is, we are. (Exodus 3:14)

Because of who He is, we are who He says we are.

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)

Lovely one, in what areas where God describes Himself as the I Am do you need to know Him more? Your God perceptions will ultimately be reflected in the life you live and the choices you make. I challenge you to invite the Word of God into your life so you can experience Him for who He truly is.
