What Brownies Taught Me

00:00

Description

Oftentimes we misuse our gifts and try something we’re not cut out for.

Have you ever tried to cut brownies and made a mess out of them? Hi, I’m Renee Swope for Proverbs 31 Ministries.

I started to serve warm brownies last night and they crumbled to pieces! But then I remembered my friend Sylvia had taught me how to cut brownies, and keep them intact, while they’re still warm.  She said I could have squares of chocolate with smooth edges – all I had to do was use a plastic knife.

You see, plastic knives have a special ability to cut warm brownies, so I decided to use one specifically for that purpose.

You know, God created each of us with unique abilities, too. Yet it’s easy to look at others and wish we had their abilities! Oftentimes we’ll misuse our gifts and try something we’re not cut out for. But just like using the wrong brownie knife, we’ll end up with a mess.

Instead of trying to be something I’m not, I’m learning to be content with abilities God has given me! How about you?
