Wellsprings of Joy
Description
After drilling a well, World Vision trains and equips pump minders who can take responsibility for repairs and maintenance.
Victor (in blue) says, "I make sure that all the 24 boreholes in Munjile area are all functional. Whether drilled by World Vision or not, my job is to work with fellow community members to inspect and repair all boreholes in our area so that no one goes back to drinking dirty water again."
Victor works closely with village water, sanitation and hygiene committees that collect fees from borehole users to procure spare parts for maintenance of every borehole in the community.
“We are grateful to you, Heavenly Father, for the technology, tools, and expertise that allow water to be found in communities that have suffered for so long.
“We ask you to help World Vision and its partners discover more ways to provide clean water at the lowest possible cost. Give experts innovative ideas to make their plans successful and efficient.”
