We Owe it All to God
“If you start thinking to yourselves, ‘I did all this. And all by myself. I’m rich. It’s all mine!’-well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth…” Deuteronomy 8:17-18
When we begin to experience any amount of success in life—from the locker room to the boardroom; from the classroom to the family room—we can all fall into the trap of thinking we’ve done it on our own. We begin to believe that it was our giftedness, ability, intelligence or our physical capabilities that allowed us to achieve that success.
But no matter what amount of success we have, we owe it all to God. He is the one who gifts us. He is the one who allows us opportunities. He is the one who paves the path and sets forth a game plan for our success. Have you fallen into the trap of thinking you have done it all on your own? Instead, acknowledge the fact that God has blessed you, and be thankful for the success He has allowed you to achieve.
Thank God for the opportunities He has provided for you. Ask Him to keep you humble, no matter what level of success you achieve.
Write out a list of some of your greatest accomplishments. After writing the list, write a thank you note to God for allowing you to achieve those things.
