We Choose to Identify with Him

We must choose to identify with Christ by faith.

Would you give up your house for Jesus to get a bigger one? We are asking this question relative to our identity with Christ.

Identity has three parts to it. Two parts are God’s doing: his Son chose to identify with us, and we have been identified with Christ. The other part is ours: we have to choose to identify with Christ by faith.

Part of the reality of our identification with Christ is that we should also choose to participate in the life of identification by doing those things which please God the Father and God the Son.

And Jesus said to them:

Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name's sake, shall receive many times as much, and shall inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last; and the last, first (Mat 19:28-30).

We have to manifest that identification in tangible ways. We may abandon things for him, but he assures us we can never out-give God. The more deeply we understand his identification with us, the greater our willingness to serve will be.
