Watching What We Say

It's important to watch the words that come out of our mouths.

If I had a dollar for every time I said something I regretted, I think I might be rich! You know, in the Bible, James said, “no man (or woman) can tame the tongue.” That makes me feel better knowing he must have struggled with mastering his mouth as well.

The other day, I was rude to my son and a little bit mean to my husband.  I realized I needed to ask God to help me think before I speak. You know, the good thing is that God reminded me He also gives us our tongues and mouths to say kind things to people, to build them up with gentleness and patience.

I don’t know about you, but I need God’s help every morning to watch the words that come out of my mouth.
