To overcome the enemy triumphantly, you must not go one step out of your way to confront him or avoid him. But you must be alert! Arm yourself in Christ.
At once the Spirit sent him out into the desert, and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him. MARK 1:12 – 13
What incredible blessing has God given you?
In your ministry?
In your personal walk with Him?
Watch out! Very often following tremendous blessing, the enemy makes his attack. In his gospel, Mark tells us that following God’s public praise of His Son, Jesus went into the desert and was tempted by Satan for forty days. Satan times his attacks to strike when we’re off guard — when we’re relaxing in a victory achieved or an honor received or a blessing enjoyed.
To overcome the enemy triumphantly, you must not go one step out of your way to confront him or avoid him. But you must be alert! Arm yourself in Christ. Depend on God in prayer. Take up the sword of God’s Word, and the enemy will be defeated!
