Watch and Wait

Description

Faith effectively waits for God to fulfill His promise rather than taking matters into its own hands.

Micah 7:7 (NIV®)

But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

Micah has stuck his stick in the ground and said, “Although at the moment my circumstances may not be what I would like, I have chosen to take my stand with God. I’m not giving up. I’m counting on Him to listen to me. And I will wait until I see God bring His deliverance to my life.” That is the call of faith. Faith isn’t about getting what you want when you want it in the way you want it. Faith is saying, “I have cast my lot with God, and I am going to ride that out because I’m counting on God to hear me.”

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, give me the same faith and persistence that Micah had. When I am in the middle of circumstances that are not what I would like, help me to seek Your will and wait on You. Thank You that You hear me when I cry out to You and always want the best for me, even when I can’t see what that is. I rejoice in Your care for me, amen.
