Wash Hands This Way

Children displaced by flooding in India learn to keep clean and avoid waterborne diseases.

This Child-Friendly Space on the site of an unfinished building in the Old Jothiammal slum in Chennai hosts about 50 children at a time for a two-hour activity session. Hundreds have participated.

World Vision opened three Child-Friendly Spaces to aid children in their recovery from the devastating floods that destroyed many homes in November 2015.

A Child-Friendly Space brings together vulnerable children who have been severely affected by a disaster and provides them the space to play, enjoy each other’s company, and revive their spirits.
