Walk in Freedom

When we receive Christ into our lives, we break away from the chains of sin and instead discover the path of freedom.

“For we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.” Romans 6:6-7

Sin creates an illusion of freedom. But the reality is, while it promises freedom, it only delivers enslavement. None of us were born to be slaves. Instead, God’s desire for our lives is that we walk in true freedom.

When we receive Christ into our lives, we break away from the chains of sin and instead discover that path of freedom. No longer are we bound to our past behavior, because our old self no longer exists. Instead, now we walk freely through life with the righteousness of Christ imputed into our lives.

Which reality are you experiencing? Are you bound by sin? Or have you experienced freedom in Christ?

Thank God for the freedom that you have through Jesus Christ. If you haven’t experienced that yet, discover what it means to walk in true freedom by praying to accept Christ into your life today.

Write these powerful reminders on a piece of paper and pin it up close to your desk, place it in your car, or put it some other place where it will constantly remind you of the freedom that comes from a relationship with Christ.
