Valuable Contentment

Description

The Bible says that we must make the decision over and over to keep our lives free of the love of money, in the same way we decide daily to make our beds or wash our faces.

Hebrews 13:5 (NIV®)

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could decide just once to have a proper relationship with money and be done with it? Evidently that’s not humanly possible. The wording of this verse suggests that we must make the decision over and over to keep our lives free of the love of money, in the same way we decide daily to make our beds or wash our faces. Money is not evil, and the Bible doesn’t condemn wealth. In fact, the Bible says that God gives us the ability to accumulate wealth. It’s our attitude about money that we should keep a careful watch over.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I choose to seek Your perspective on money and all the things money can do. I pray for contentment with the blessings You have poured over my life. Give me a generous spirit in all things, that I would reflect Your generosity. Thank You for the promise that You will never leave me or forsake me, for that is worth more than all the world’s riches. In the name of Jesus, amen.
