1 Timothy 1:17 (NIV®)
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.
Prayer is not a religious formality or something that professional Christians do in public to fill a spot on a program or move a meal along. Prayer is an opportunity for each of us to interact with the unseen world, specifically, Almighty God. I think sometimes Christians are a bit apologetic because we pray to a God we can’t see. But unseen things influence our lives every day―think about technology―and we don’t apologize for our belief in them. God invites us to be people who make a difference, and the most effective way to do that is by recognizing the life-changing power of prayer and making it a regular part of our daily lives.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of coming to You with my praises and requests and concerns. Thank You that I can talk to You one on one, without an intermediary. Open my eyes to see the unseen, invisible God at work on my behalf. Thank you for what you will do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
