Trust in God

Description

Andrea Viton, 24, wears three crosses that remind her to trust in God. Andrea was abandoned at birth and grew up in a Romanian orphanage. She said that after she was born her mother ran from the hospital, leaving newborn Andrea behind.

Andrea Viton is one of 13 children. She was taken to the orphanage as an infant and lived there until she was 18 when she aged out of the system.

Children coming out of the Romanian orphanages face a number of difficulties as they transition into society. World Vision is working through its Keep Children Safe Off the Streets program to make this transition more successful.

Andrea lived at World Vision's Hope House for a time and there received life skills and interpersonal training.

"Hope House taught me to be good because I was a rebel," she says. "I learned to trust myself and be more secure and I met some wonderful people there."

Her trust in God also grew at Hope House. She says she's gained an inner strength that fuels optimism in her life.

"My trust is in God," she says. World Vision helped her get a job in a clothing factory, which she says she enjoys.
