After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was... And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route (Matthew 2:9, 12).
Some of the most well recognized characters in the Christmas story are the wise men. When they heard about the birth of Jesus, they immediately set out to find him because they wanted to worship him. After finding Jesus, the Bible tells us here, these wise men left by ‘another route.’
True worship happens when we leave by another route. Worship changes us. It shifts something in our lives. When we truly worship the God of the universe; when we bow the knee to Jesus, we always leave by another route, because we are never the same again.
Ask God to help you truly worship Him in ways that change you.
Worship isn’t just singing at church. True worship transcends everything we do, say, touch and feel. Write out other ways you can worship God throughout your week.
