True Love

Description

Did you know that your Heavenly Father loves you so much that He gave up His ONLY Son?

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

One thing a mother truly understands in parenting is the deep love she feels for her child. There is nothing quite like when your toddler can finally look up at you and say the words, “I love you mommy!” It melts our hearts every time. Even when our children disobey or do things that we do not approve of, we still love them. Our love runs deep with our children, and no one or nothing can ever break that love. Sure, there are times when we get frustrated, even get angry at our children, but the love is always there.

Did you know that your Heavenly Father loves you so much that He gave up His ONLY Son? Why would He ever do such a thing? We would never give up our child for another person! But God did. God gave us His only Son, so we could live with Him in eternity. Jesus paid the huge price of sacrificing His life for our sins, so we could be united with God forever. God is a holy God, and the only way we could be united with Him was for someone to pay the price of our sin. That was Jesus, the perfect sacrifice to take away our sin. What deep love that is! There is an old hymn written by Elvina M. Hall, that sums it up:

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

Today as you hug your child and whisper those three words, I love you, remember your Heavenly Father loves you more than you will ever understand. He loves you whether you obey Him, trust Him, or even know Him. He loves you!!! If you will accept His love gift to you, Jesus, you can spend eternity with Him in heaven!

Prayer

Father, Your love for me is so large, it is hard for me to comprehend. But, I trust You and trust that You DO love me. Thank You for Your love. Thank You for Your gift to mankind who was Your only Son, Jesus. God, I accept Your gift and look forward to the day when we will be together forever, in heaven.
