Total Provision

We need the power of God to help us overcome evil because the only thing evil will yield to is a power greater than itself.

Psalm 97:10 (NIV®)

Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

There is a battle in the earth between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness, and this is a battle we cannot win on our own. It we were left to our own devices to outsmart or outtalk evil, we could not do it. We need the power of God to help us break the spiritual influences that stand opposed to God’s purposes in our lives because the only thing evil will yield to is a power greater than itself. On the cross, God made complete and total provision for your well-being and mine. You and I, through our beliefs and our choices, either reject His provision or we claim it for our own and cooperate with it. The wicked are powerful in our world, but we can rely on His greater power and His promise to guard and deliver us.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the sufficiency of Your power demonstrated on the cross. Thank You that it is not up to me to define it or defend it, for it is a power beyond my comprehension. Again I claim Your provision for me and Your power over anything or anyone who would oppose Your purposes in my life. I praise You for all You will accomplish in and through me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
