Too Young to Die

Description

Sometimes God’s ways just make no sense. So it is when He allows people to die we think are “too young.”

People were saying, “His grandkids really needed him, especially as a Christian example, since the parents didn’t do it. Why did he die now? I don’t get it. Those kids are going to suffer because he’s gone.” Has anybody in your family died too young, leaving behind minor children, a load of debts, or a business that couldn’t survive without him?

Sometimes God’s ways just make no sense. John the Baptist was just getting started with his nationwide wake-up call to take notice that the Messiah had arrived. He was drawing huge crowds and having a massive impact. First God let him become imprisoned, and his fiery sermons ceased. Then God allowed him to be executed. “The king [Herod Antipas] was greatly distressed, but because of his oaths and dinner guests, he did not want to refuse her [his stepdaughter Salome]. So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John’s head” (Mark 6:26,27).

John must have thought till the very last second that there would be a miraculous angelic escape and he would be able to resume his ministry. What a shock when he woke up in heaven. God had decided that his mission on earth was accomplished. So it is when God allows people to die that we thought were “too young.” Now other people have an important mission.
