Today Is a New Day

How often do you miss what's "right" because you're focused on what's "wrong?"

It’s so easy to be distracted by one wrong thing that we can often miss out on many right things!

Recently I walked out my front door and immediately noticed something was different. Our big, shade-providing tree was gone. I called my husband in a panic. He assured me that everything was fine and that he had purposely had the tree cut down.

His calm explanation didn’t make me feel any better. Every time I looked outside, all I could see was the stump.

What I didn’t understand was that the tree was sick, and my husband knew that it could fall during a storm.  Distracted by what I considered to be a “wrong thing” in our yard, I couldn’t see the many right things!

No, my husband did not talk to me about the tree, but he WAS being our family’s protector and that is a good thing.
