To Be Like Jesus
Those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son. ROMANS 8:29
I get so tired — and frustrated — with my own bad habits. My own sin. I know I’ve received God’s forgiveness for those sins at the cross. I know that. But I still sin. I don’t want to. I try not to. But I do. The reality of sin is the single most discouraging, defeating fact in my life.
Do you feel defeated by sin too? Second Corinthians 3:18 promises, “We, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory.” That’s you and me! We can look forward with hope.
One day, when we get to our Father’s house, all our sinful tendencies, sinful thoughts, actions, words, and feelings — all of it — will fall away like a rotten garment that just drops off and is thrown away.
Be encouraged! The character of Christ is being developed in you right now. And one day you’ll be like Jesus.
