Time Management

Only God writes in ink. The rest of us need pencils and erasers.

Most leaders are good visionaries, good planners, good organizers.  They are committed to get the task done, on time, within budget (period).  When they approach their calendar, they are equally committed to doing what needs to be done, and they can chisel appointments in stone.  Only blasting powder can break up the schedule.

But, since leaders can only go somewhere worthwhile by following God through the next step, consider being flexible. Remember…

Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow, we shall go to such and such a city,
and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit."

Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow.
You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and also do this or that."
James 4:13-15

Pencil in dates and times for future stuff.  Use ink for history.
