This Is Where We Live

Mother and daughter stand in the doorway of a homemade tent in Lebanon.

In the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, tent settlements have sprung up like mushrooms around fields and pastures. Since 2011, more than a million Syrians have registered as refugees in Lebanon.

Some who can afford it pay a bit more to rent apartments, others live in tent settlements, paying rent to a landlord for the use of the land. Still others occupy abandoned or unfinished buildings.

The numbers of Syrian refugees continue to grow. Most of the 4.8 million people who’ve fled Syria since the war began are still in the region, in Turkey, Lebanon, or Jordan.

Please pray for the refugees:

Lord, come to the aid of families who have fled to safety. Guide them to places where they can find help and rest. Provide host communities with the resources to assist families arriving on their doorstep. Lord, we trust in You.
