Thirst for First

Description

When we place God in His proper position of first place in our lives and seek first His kingdom and righteousness, we can confidently step into the octagon ready to fight, and win, again and again.

“…seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”  - Matthew 6:33

THINK

If you've ever watched your favorite sports team win the championship game, you can imagine what it might feel like to be in their shoes. They’re in the spot light and for that moment, they feel invincible. As a fan, we’re just as excited as they are. It’s a contagious enthusiasm that can’t be contained. It’s the thirst for first that’s been realized.

The reality is our thirst for first comes to us from God. We are wired to have God take first place in our lives. The problem is that too many people and activities are also competing for this position. There is a fight going on to make sure God is first in our lives and that we are seeking His kingdom and his righteousness first. When we place God in His proper position of first place in our lives and seek first His kingdom and righteousness, we can confidently step into the octagon ready to fight, and win, again and again.

PRAY

Ask God to help you continue the fight to always keep Him first and to seek His kingdom and His righteousness first in everything you do.

ACT

Examine your life to see what might be competing for that first place position that should always be God’s. Determine today to fight to maintain His proper place of first in your life.
