Think About It
Psalm 1:2 (NIV)
His delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
To meditate on something simply means to think about it often. God has said there is a blessing if we’ll think about His perspective regularly. I read that, and I want to find that line and figure how to get in it. If it means I have to change what I think about, then let’s begin today. It’s an amazing promise of Scripture that you and I can lead lives of significance and find stability in our world not because of who we are or what we’ve achieved, but because we choose to align ourselves with Almighty God.
Father, give me a greater desire for the eternal things that matter to You, and show me Your perspective on the temporary things of this world. I want to be like that tree, planted by streams that never run dry and yielding fruit for You. Help me to stand steadfast when all around me seems uncertain. In the name of Jesus, amen.
