The Unities

Paul gave the set of unities that we should observe and participate in.

Are you in unity with the unities? The letter to the Ephesians is all about unity based upon our union with Christ. In the second part of Ephesians, we are told to live our lives in a worthwhile way. As part of that worthwhile way we must live our lives out of the unities the Trinity has created. Paul gave the set of unities that we should observe and participate in.

4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all—(Eph 4:4-6).

These unities are Trinitarian. They start with the Holy Spirit and his calling us into the body of Christ. They proceed to the one faith we have in our one Lord, and the baptism we practice to confess that faith. They end with God the Father whose presence lives within these unities. This set of unities define reality for us. Is this the world you are living in or are you just living in this world?
