The Ultimate in Doing Good

00:00

Description

The Gospel tells us a lot about ourselves: if we accept it, then it is the ultimate in good works. If we reject it, however, then it is a most terrible crime against kindness and against God Himself.

The quickest x-ray of the human heart is taken by the Gospel! The Gospel tells us very much about ourselves. When we accept the Gospel, it is the ultimate in good works. If we reject the Gospel, it is a most terrible crime against kindness and God himself. Love is spurned and spat upon.

8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation.

9 tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek,

10 but glory and honor and peace to every man who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

11 For there is no favoritism with God. (Rom 2:8-11)

Out of the acceptance of the Gospel comes glory and honor and peace because the Gospel changes the human heart. From living in darkness, we are now living in the light. As we live in the light and in the company of God, our hearts change towards the Father, and towards humanity. The greatest human crime is to reject the God who died on the Cross for us. No greater wrongdoing exists. Nor is there any greater act of moral blindness than that. Because what more can the Son of God do for anyone than to die in their stead and promise Heaven for free by faith.
